Our Projects

Go-seva  or working for cattle is understood to bring beauty and wealth to one’s life. This service can take many steps and requires all costs to help more goshalas around the world maintain their level of care and achieve their goals.

The settlement of old, unproductive and discarded cattle in traditional cattle sheds (gaushalas) is an ancient practice in India. Cattle are revered as mother goddesses by many Hindus in the country and their killing is illegal in many provinces. Shelters are funded by the community, businesses, including corporate assistance, charitable communities, temple trustees and government. The shelter manager provides communication between visitors, staff and cattle and is better able to understand the challenges of using shelters. The purpose of this study was to gather and analyze information on the general functioning of shelters and to make management’s views on cattle and cattle welfare. Limited safety measures and random waste disposal raise concerns about public health. All managers felt that the well-being of cattle in their habitats was important and needed to be improved, but they were not sure that their knowledge of animal welfare was insufficient. There was more acceptance of local community support than government support and both were admitted to be more ethical than financial support. Involving and training shelter managers as key participants in social development programs will enhance the resilience of these traditional institutions

There is no small or great contribution to this work, and all funds are accepted and appreciated. Each cent makes a dramatic difference in the lives of these cattle that the Sovereign Lord loves so much. Each donation can be made as a one-time donation, or as a monthly donation, and it is our hope that no matter what you think, you make it as a monthly donation, making these wonderful cows and projects part of your family.
